Hello CATIA users & experts! 👋🏻 It's time to start the May session of the CATIA Design Contest! 🏆
May 16th is International Day of Light 💡 & on this occasion, the CATIA Marketing team offers you a Design Contest on the theme of Electricity ⚡ & its access. We therefore propose the following challenge 👇🏻
Did you know that?
- Access to electricity ⚡ & light 💡 is an important issue for the economic & social development 📈 of countries, its populations encounter difficulties in accessing health care 👩🏻⚕️🩺, studying 📚👨🏻🎓 or communicating 📱📧 effectively .
- Light is reflected from objects 🌂👜🥎 allowing us to see them. Objects of different colors reflect different wavelengths of light.
- The speed of light in a vacuum is approximately 299.792.458 meters per second, making it the fastest speed 🚀 in the known universe.
Health in Numbers
- 1.6 as the number of billion people who do not have access to electricity ⚡ and are therefore unable to access light 💡
- 8 as the number of minutes needed for sunlight 🔆 to reach the earth 🌍.
- 44 as the percentage of the population in sub-Saharan Africa that has access to electricity ⚡ in 2020.
- 99,7 as the percentage of the European population that has access to electricity ⚡ in 2020.

Procedure to follow to participate 👇🏻
1. Publish Renderings & 3D Model on the CATIA User Community 👇🏻.
2. Upload on the CATIA User Community with the tag Design Contest
3. Send a message into the Conversation tab to @AP with your postal address 📍, email 📧, and phone number 📱 so we can send you your unique CATIA product among our range of goodies.
You can submit your renderings & 3D Model throughout the month of May (Until 31 May at 11:59pm UTC).
Winners 🏆 will be selected during the first fortnight of June according to criteria of innovation & sustainability of their achievement using CATIA app which can be a real innovation in the electricity ⚡ domain. A different competition is established between @DS participants and external CATIA users.
