June 5th is World Environment Day ♻ and on this occasion, the CATIA Marketing team offers you a Design Contest on the theme of Pollution Reduction and all the innovative solutions that can help protect our planet 🌍. We therefore propose the following challenge 👇🏻

How the Circular Economy Tackles Climate Change? 

We invite you to illustrate how designing out waste, keeping materials in use, and regenerating farmland can reduce these emissions by 9.3 billion tonnes. That is equivalent to eliminating current emissions from all forms of transport globally.

This transition is essential. With 45% of global greenhouse gas emissions coming from how we make and use things and the extraction and processing of natural resources accounting for 90% of biodiversity loss - design has huge potential to influence our transition to a circular economy. By applying the principles of the circular economy, we can redesign our broken, take-make-waste, linear economy to eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials, and regenerate nature.

1. The ten warmest years ☀🥵 on record have all occurred since 2005, according to data from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the next few years are likely to be worse. 
2. Climate change is having tangible effects, such as melting glaciers 🧊, rising sea levels 🌊 and more extreme weather events 🌪🌀🌫.
3. Forests 🌴🌲🌳 play a crucial role in regulating the climate, preserving biodiversity and providing habitats for many species.
