Hello CATIA users & experts! 👋🏻
July 20th is International Moon Day 🌙 and on this occasion, the CATIA Marketing team offers you a Design Contest on the theme of space 🌌🚀 & the return of 👩🏻 Humans 👨🏻 to the Moon 🌕 in the coming years. We therefore propose the following challenge 👇🏻
The sky has no limit. How space exploration can drive innovation on the Moon?
Did you know that?
- The Moon 🌔 continues to gradually move away from the Earth 🌍 at a rate of about 3,8 centimeters per year. This means that in the distant future, the Moon 🌕 will appear smaller & smaller in the sky.
- Gravity on the Moon 🌙 is about 1/6th that of the Earth 🌍. This is why objects 🎸 & people weigh much less on the Moon 🌙, and why astronauts 👨🏻🚀 were able to make spectacular 🏃🏻♀️ leaps 🏃🏻♂️ during the Apollo missions.
- The Moon's surface 🌕 is covered with craters caused by meteorite impacts. These craters have remained intact for billions of years, as there is no erosion.
- The Moon has no significant atmosphere, which means that there is no air 🌪 or wind 🌀. This is why astronauts have left clearly visible footprints 🐾 on the lunar surface 🌕
The Moon in Numbers
- 1969, the year in which man (Neil Armstrong) walked 🦶🏻 on the Moon 🌒 for the first time during the space mission
- 2025, the most optimistic year for 👨🏻🚀 Human's return 👩🏻🚀 to the Moon 🌖 with the Artemis III mission 🚀
- 384,400 is the number of kilometers separating the Moon 🌙 from the Earth 🌍.
