Hello, here I want to share with you another design concept created completely with our CATIA Design portfolio on the 3DExperience Platform R2018x.

To create this concept car I used CATIA Human Design to create a human reference for the proportions in my 3D space. Then I sketched around this human the ideas for my design with CATIA Natural Sketch. After that I switched to Imagine&Shape to generate my subdivision surfaces on top of my sketches. Here I benefit a lot from the associativity of CATIA - I can use the subdivision surfaces of Imagine&Shape like digital clay in order to find the optimal shape during the modeling process. To generate the details in the exterior I used hybrid modeling of Imagine&Shape and parametric Nurbs modeling from Generative Shape Design. At any stage of the modeling I made benefit of the high quality realtime visualization which we have on the Platform. It enables me to experience my design with a realistic feedback of colors and materials all along the design process. The materials and textures where created in CATIA Live Rendering. At many times I did reviews of my design shapes in VR with the HTC VIVE. This helped a lot to have a better understanding of the proportions. For the interior I mostly used CATIA Icem which allowed me to generate the highest surface quality. The front seats I reused from my good DS colleague Florent PRAUD - Thanks for sharing, Florent.
