Hi everyone,
I'm new to Catia administration and I'm not sure if here is the best place to ask questions. So I give it a try :)
CATSettings
From my investigations, the CATSettings are binary files and not easy to manage in terms of history control (SVN/GIT), or even to deploy.
I'm surprised not to be able to find any utility/tools that can help to build configurations and get rid of user-dependent settings (I'm referring to a few settings that contain the username for instance).
I figured the CATSettings could be exported to XML and vice versa. This can help track changes in a source control tool (SVN/GIT), but it's still not efficient enough for me.
I also found a utility whose name seems interesting: ..\win_b64\code\bin\SettingsCSVExport.exe but so far, I have not been able to generate any CSV (the usage output is not very helpful).
Catia Launcher
I'm under the impression that many companies have developed their own launcher over time to manage environments, settings, and licenses.
For those 2 topics, aren't there any open-source/free solutions that came to be generally used? Did I search at the wrong places?
Thanks,
Florent
