A few months ago was held the COExperience 2019 Annual Experience and TechniFair. It was a very successful event, filled with keynote presentations from industry leaders, an exciting TechniFair and high-energy networking events. Many participants enjoyed their time in New Orleans and returned home with insight and knowledge about the latest solutions and advancements in the industry. Among them, Jim Mccarty (@JM ) was representing Lockheed Martin.
During that event, we had the chance to sit down and exchange with Jim about his job, his years of experience with CATIA, the Community. Jim has 29 years of experience working with CATIA in the Aerospace industry, covering a wide range of disciplines including airframe design, hydraulics and tubing, composites, FEM, kinematics, advanced surfacing, photo studio, real time rendering, reverse engineering, VB scripting and electrical harness installation and flattening.
Jim was also a CATIA instructor for 8 years, in charge of all facets of CATIA training for Lockheed, is a company SME for all things CATIA, and on the new version evaluation team. Jim currently works as the Advanced Harness Design project lead. He has completely redefined the harness build process from the ground up using a suite of Dassault products, including the delivery of 3D wire routing aids to the shop floor using CATIA Composer and writing a number of VB Scripts to automate portions of the harness design process.
