Composites Engineering ​​​​​​​CATIA Champion ​​​​​​​

A few years ago (almost 6), I was sent to do some work for a German company working with composite. It was really interesting, especially that they were doing also manufacturing not only design.

Great colleagues in the team, many of them ready to help and give advice when I encounter some job-related problems, a lot of things to learn in a short time, and to apply according to procedures.

Looking now back to that period of time, I can understand very well the real value of the CATIA composite application. At that time I didn't use V5 composite workbench and I remember I done a lot of additional work to give to the manufacturing shop drawings to show different things.

I remember I done also some macros in Excel showing plies exploded in 3dxml files with annotations for a better understanding (and I remember also that it was the first time when someone from DS - @AC, which I salute, glad to see her in the Connected Engineering webinar - asked in the old SWYM communities if is our job as users to do such kind of small tools, just because someone asked how he can open 3dxml file from Excel and I answered). No, not our job, but if we know what to do and can help also others, why not?

Well, for a few weeks already, I have the opportunity to participate in what this great community COE is doing with the 2020 Discovery Panel - Composite, which is happening with the support and help of @DD from INCEPTRA, @MB and @EA from Dassault.

They already delivered two hands-on sessions with a very clear and easy to follow content in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE Composites Design so I was able to understand more about the real value of design with a dedicated app (I never used composite apps until today).

Good to know also that you have a short tutorial when accessing Composite Design in 3DX platform.
