Highlight is delivered to enable the detection of threads and taps through Tap-Thread Analysis command on SheetMetal holes in both Flat and 3D views.
Requirement origin
There was need to provide Tap-Thread Analysis command for SheetMetal Holes. Currently Tap-Thread Analysis don’t detect the Threads or Taps on SheetMetal holes. New Tap-Thread command is added in Sheet Metal Design and Sheet Metal Hydro-formed Design application from 3DEXPERIENCE R2019x.This command behaves similar to Tap-Thread Analysis command from Part Design application with the additional functionality of having thread analysis in both folded and unfolded views.
What is offered & how it serves
In SheetMetal Design app, Tap-Thread Analysis command is available in ‘Review’ section on action bar.
The Tap-Thread Analysis dialog box has below check boxes for analysis:
In SheetMetal App, threaded holes consists of Holes created with thread option, Flanged Holes (with Tap), SheetMetal Solids pasted from SheetMetal parts having holes with thread option. This function enables the Tap-Thread Analysis command to detect threads or taps on SheetMetal holes in both the views 3D and Flat as shown in below image.
With Tap-Thread Analysis command the number of valid threads or taps are displayed in the dialog box. After clicking apply button the representations are shown at location of holes with display of thread diameter, depth and pitch. The representations are created in both views 3D and flat at the respective location of holes in that view. The representations created are not persistent, they are lost when the command is deactivated.
