This Highlight provides user the ability to split a Rebar layer into several ones so that the length of each bar fits the stock length from manufacturer. This function makes it easy to place couplers between bars or manage bar overlap.
Requirement origin
With the Rebar creation command, which was introduced in 3DEXPERIENCE R2018x, it is possible to create a rebar layer. However this rebar was created as one single bar across the complete length. There was need to able to cut the bar asper the length of the stock rebar from the manufacturers.
This function provides capability to split bar layers as per requirement.
What is offered & how it serves
The rebar split command is provided in Reinforcement tab.
Once the layer is selected, a curvilinear pattern is created automatically on the longest bar. Three types of pattern definition are available:
- Spacing: User needs to input bar length as spacing value, the number of split bars are automatically calculated.
- Count: User defines the number of split bars and the spacing is automatically calculated.
- Count and spacing: User can select count and spacing mode to divide the bars evenly.
Split modes:
There are two types of split mode available:
1. Standard:
In this mode the split length is obtained from longest bar and is reported on other bar, beginning from start extremities.
- Projected:
2. In this mode the cutting points obtained from curvilinear pattern on the longest bar are projected on the other bars.
A geometrical set is created which contains Split and the result rebar layer.
