Highlight is delivered as a new App Concrete Structures 3D Design to provide user the ability to create quickly and easily reinforcing bar layers (rebar) with respect to standard business rules.
Requirement origin
A new mode is provided in rebar creation to create rebars from existing wires or define a rebar profile by directly picking points. The wire inputs can be sketch or a polyline.
What is offered & how it serves
The Rebar creation command has a new mode ‘Wire selection’ for the user to define a bar profile using wire or by picking points.
1: Rebar from wire selection
Using this modes user can create a rebar layer by selection an existing wire or create a new using sketch.
To create a rebar from wire a curve is needed as input. The existing curve can be selected by user or user can create it by direct editing using Rebar definition by points or Sketcher.
The selected curve cannot be infinite, closed or Self-intersect.
An axis system is also needed except in case of “No Pattern”. This Axis System is going to define the coordinates’ system, in which the curve is defined; this is going to allow the pattern to replicate the curve (as patterns replicate Axis Systems)
When pattern is defined (i.e. different from “No Pattern”), an axis to axis transformation is applied between the axis associated to the curve and the pattern axis.

2: Rebar definition by points
Using this modes user can create a new Rebar layer by routing wire by picking points. The edition is done by switching to a new app: “Rebar definition Routing 3D Design”.
Rebar definition by points is available in Rebar creation command in those two contexts:
•Rebar from wire
•Rebar extremities definition.
When user selects this mode,
•If no wire is defined or selected, a wire defined by points is created.
•If wire has already been defined by points, it’s edited.
•If a wire is selected/defined and can be converted into polyline, the conversion is done and this new wire is defined by points and edited.
The action bar of “Rebar definition by points” app is minimalist with only one “Exit app” action.
Other actions are contextual to the current rebar layer (rebar from wire) or current rebar extremity (extremities definition)
User can then define and/or modify the rebar accordingly.
To go back to rebar edition commands user need to click “Exit app”.
