• Title: Talk, Touch, See, Explore: Speech and Touch Interaction for Exploring and Maintaining Digital Threads in MBSE
• Speaker: Romain Pinquié (University of Grenoble)
• Description : Adopting a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach generates digital threads, a seamless flow of linked data that connects all aspects of a system's life cycle. The consistency of the linked set of digital artefacts must be actively managed throughout the system's life cycle, from design to manufacturing, maintenance, and beyond. Immersive analytics has proven helpful in managing large datasets. However, no research has focused on employing advanced interactive visualisation to explore and manage digital threads. This paper presents GraphXplore, a virtual world that enables systems engineers to navigate MBSE digital threads by interacting with a rich, immersive, layered 3D graphical metaphor integrated with a CAD model. The presentation will also briefly discuss ongoing developments related to integrating more natural speech and textual interaction with a conversational generative AI embedded that supports a system engineer's activity in the virtual environment. The MBSE digital threads of a spaceplane system will serve as a case study to illustrate GraphXplore.
