Last week, @KP posted a question on XGen community on how to do gills on a Fish Lure in CATIA. I made a quick try on XGenerative Design base on a subdivion surface.
I used a subdivison surface done with CATIA Imagine and Shape as base surface, which I know better than XShape.
It is not a UV regular surface. yet I can define diagonals to it. It is convex, with 4 boundaries. I thought it was enough for a fish.
to get the diagonals, I used a "Brep, then, Get item on vertices". This is manual operation so not so smart in the case I replace the base surface by another one. Yet it does the job quick.
Then, I divide the diagonals evenly and trace the geodesics passing by the divisions. Those geodesics are used to slice the base surface.
finally, I can colorize the individual slices.
I was impressed by the level of the rendering on the browser. I felt a leap with R2012XFD06.
see below is on google Chrome!
let me know if you are interested with the model.
