Hi, this is something we noticed a long time ago. It's is not necessarily affecting our work, but still a bit annoying.
The issue is that when exporting a file (doesn't matter if .icem .edf or .igs) ICEM Surf is just adding the file extension instead of replacing it.
Imagine the following work flow. I'm exporting an .icem file for my ICEM Surf fellows. So, I go into the "Export ICEM DB" menu, use a sometimes quite long but descriptive name and hit "OK"
In the next step I want to export the same data as an .edf file for my fellow Designers. So, I go into the "Export EDF" menu and want to use the exact same file name, but I don't want to type it in again. I hit this little icon and look for the .icem file I just saved.
Which I can find easily. So I click on it to re-use the file name without typing anything. Works fine so far. But the issue I'm trying to describe is, instead of replacing the .icem file extension with the .edf file extension, it just adds the .edf file extension. As a result the proposed file would be named "FileName.icem.edf" Which means I have to go in there and delete the .icem part manually.
And now I want to export the same data as an .igs file for my fellow Studio Engineers or for the mill. So I would need to go through the same procedure again because ICEM would automatically set the name to "FileName.icem.igs".
Most other software tools would just replace the file extension instead of adding it. Is there any way ICEM Surf could behave the same way?
