European Forum on Additive Manufacturing

From the 24th to the 26th of June, for its 19th edition, the “Assises Européennes de la Fabrication Additive” (European Forum on Additive Manufacturing) organized by the AFPR (French Rapid Prototyping Association) will once again be held at Ecole Centrale Paris - (92290) Châtenay-Malabry.

This event has to do with what we now call additive manufacturing. You are probably wondering what “additive manufacturing” is? No worries! Additive manufacturing mainly deals with the process of shaping any kind of item while piling successive layers of matter. That’s why; additive manufacturing is deeply linked with 3D printing. Indeed, as you may know, a 3D printer prints from bottom to top while piling successive layers.

Good news! This 3-days event includes one day 100% dedicated to creation and 3D printing.  And this year, it will also be the occasion to pay tribute to Jean-Claude ANDRE, for the 30th anniversary of the first patent related to “additive manufacturing”.

Conferences will be held by national and international specialists of this (rather) new industry. Major players participating in the development of these technologies will explain how things evolve in this sector and how these new technologies will widen the possibilities in terms of shapes and properties of materials/manufactured objects.

Apart from conferences, there will be sessions related to modeling technologies and machines, materials and applications, 3D printing (in the medical industry) and also sessions related to intellectual property.
