Discover the Team E project of Design in the Age of Experience Urban Mobility Hackathon!

Antonio PEZZELLA from NIO, Karl SCHMIDL from VOLKSWAGEN AUDI Group, and Tomislav SOLINA from BYTON, as well as Simon SPATZL & Eric THOMASSIN respectively from CATIA User Experience & R&D created a revolutionary inspired by nature design that won the best quality experience!

During those amazing days of intense and productive collaboration, I’ve had a unique chance to see livesome of the most impressive and innovative CATIA users from our core business industries. Their knowledge and craftsmanship has been a source of inspiration all along the design to reach an incredible result and continues to be. Thanks to the 3DExperience Platform on the Cloud, I’ve had the chance to be part of this project and follow their pace to produce this concept, which I’m proud to introduce.

City Tube Concept… We wanted to improve Urban mobility by optimizing and enriching public transportation with an exclusive experience that would leverage the best of the latest technologies on transportation such as the Hyperloop system. We imagined a complete system of connected stations were people would navigate between at an incredible speed using a low pressure tube concept to convey specific capsules through an innovative Magnetic Wave mechanism embedded in the floor.

The capsule itself is inspired from the most energy efficient fluid moving creatures we could imagine: whales and sharks. It resulted in a design which combines aerodynamics and aesthetics notions to provide the transportation system of the future.

And finally, since we are in the Age of the Experience, the feeling from the user perspective had to be comfortable. For designing the interior of the capsule, we’ve used the very latest technologies from DASSAULT SYSTEMES to create structures and humans which enabled us to visualize and experience our proposal. It made us produce a modern and good-looking interior to give people the desire and the pleasure to use our solutions.

As a conclusion, I want to thank from the bottom of my heart my amazing teammates who have been teaching design and inspiration to me for those 3 days. I have the feeling that we have been using the most of our skills to create this concept, and that only the 3DExperience Platform can make it possible to join those skills together and build, maybe, the future of public transportation.

Thank you all for your time and attention!
