When Design & Innovation Adresses Consumer Needs 

People need is to make their homes healthier in the future and aspire for products that responde to their personal needs and desire. To cater to this, we found two concept that might catch your attention:  the Harvest Matching concept and the 2D Smart Kitchen.

First of all, the Harvest Matching concept is a device that allows you to monitor your plants and then informs you when the produce is ripe and ready to cook. A helpful Smartphone app gives you details on the growth process and even suggests recipes. Powered with a solar panel, the gardening pot is pretty self-sufficient.

Second concept: the 2D Smart Kitchen, which prepares automatically your meals. It gives more space and time for each other and makes you a perfect cooked dinner

When the meal is ready, the dish can be taken out and served at the table. Meanwhile the kitchen becomes atmospheric lighting and cleans itself. The perfect invention to save time and space !

Jaguar's Project 7 Race Car Concept

Last week-end was the Festival of Speed, the largest motoring garden party in the world – a unique summer weekend that brings together an impossibly heady mix of cars, stars and motor sport ‘royalty’ to create the largest car culture event in the world.

The Jaguar Project 7 concept has made a dynamic debut at the festival. The concept vehicle is based on the 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE, an all-new, two-seat convertible sports car and winner of the 2013 ‘World Car Design of the Year’ award.

Not just a car...A story of passion!

Under Director of Design, Ian Callum, who constantly challenges his team to push the boundaries of design, Project 7 went from being an experimental sketch by Jaguar designer Cesar Pieri to the track in just four months.

Bringing to bear his love for cars and motorsport, his passion for Jaguar’s heritage, and his familiarity with the F-TYPE, Pieri drew a single-seat sports car with a swooping profile, cut-down windscreen and race-inspired livery.

Futuristic Venice Skyscraper will never be brought into being !

Public and government opposition has forced fashion tycoon Pierre Cardin to cancel plans for his futuristic Venice skyscraper.

Pierre Cardin and his architect nephew Rodrigo Basilicati have axed plans for their 60-storey, three-finned Palais Lumière (Palace of Light) skyscraper, due to criticisms about how the building would fit into the Venetian landscape. For the full article: here

Maurizio Montalti Designing a New Industrial Revolution

Italian designer, artist, engineer and researcher Maurizio Montalti crosses the boundary between nature and culture. 

He believes in the role of the designer as a bridge between different fields of action: particularly science, art, society, industry...

The philosophical core of Montalti's research is connected with the ongoing revolution ignited by 3D-manufacturing, which he himself uses with fungi as a printable material. Because traditional fixed matter requires designers to outline shapes to contain it, 3D-printing makes them able to design the very DNA of matter and make it emanate its own shape. Rather than working with the tangible phenotype of things, designers can now have their hand in creating their very own genotype that sets the form matter has to grow into.
