Volvo Unveils Innovative Self-Parking Car

The phenomeno of an autonomous car is not completely new and last since two years now. However, Volvo could make significantly changes with a system that sends the car park alone. But not only, as it will avoid pedestrians and others cars which are in his way too.

The service will work only with parking spaces designed to be compatible with Vehicle 2 Infrastructure technology.

The question is, are we going to see this technology anytime soon? Regarding Thomas Broberg, Volvo Senior Safety Advisor "The autonomous parking and platooning technologies are still being developed. However, we will take the first steps towards our leadership aim by introducing the first features with autonomous steering in the all-new Volvo XC90, which will be revealed at the end of 2014.".

Printable 'bionic' ear melds electronics and biology

 

Scientists at Princeton University have designed a bionic ear that can hear better than human ears.

Potential health risks of exposure to noise is high nowadays with the Millennial Generation. Indeed, the majority of us are constantly exposed to noise pollution and most of us are not really making ears' prevention...And could lead us to have some serious ears problems in the future. So maybe, new technology will help us to replace our ears and prevent generation Y from Tinnitus.

Last week we saw that some people are using 3D printing to create guns, now we see that scientists at Princeton University are using them to create working human ears. What is your opinion about this? Don't hesitate to share your opinion on 3D printing with us !

Celebrating the Life of Sam Farber, a Master of Design 

 

A serial entrepreneur with an economics degree from Harvard,  died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16th, at the age of 88.

He spent three decades in the kitchenware business – launching COPCO in 1960, followed by the leading kitchenware company OXO, and, lastly, WOVO. He focused on partnering with designers to create products that solve real human needs.
