CATIA Design Contest 2013 : Tips&Tricks #1

 Inspiratory step

The first step in any creation is to get ideas : What  colors, materials, forms inspire you ?

Start from scratch with 2D sketches

What form do you want to give to your seat and for what kind of innovative functions ?

  Add volume to your Sketches

You can start by drawing your plans in 2D, and then import them in Live Shape or Natural Sketch (CATIA for Creative Designers V6) to work directly on a model with good proportions !  Efficient, quick and intuitive, Live Shape and Natural Sketch allows you to define precisely curves and shape of your object directly in a 3D environnment. Every curves will be reusable as a support for the 3D modeling step.

Tips & Tricks :

Tips 1 :

CATIA V5

Sketch Tracer

Live Shape and Natural Sketch are not mandatory to create an amazing Seating Experience !

If you have CATIA V5 you can use Sketch Tracer as an alternative to import your 2D Sketch.

Tips 2 :

CATIA V6

Natural Sketch

In Natural Sketch : Do not hesitate to change the brush and the color of the stroke using either Sketch or trace.
