3D Sketching with CATIA Natural Sketch

With CATIA Natural Sketch, Creative Designer can create 3D curves that automatically connect to each other.

New in 3DExperience R2015x, 3D curves can be optimized after creation changing order, color, thickness & opacity:

Creative designer can also use CATIA Natural Sketch to annotate using Layers:

He can even do a mix between 2D image & 3D Sketch using the cutter or eraser function on the image (New in R2015x)

Concept Modeling

Using CATIA Imagine & Shape, Creative Designer can explore ideas with flexible 3D like virtual clay.

Using 3D Sketch as a context, Creative Designer explores forms & shape.
In R2015x, Creative Designers access to new selection mode oriented for pen selection such as:

Selection by:

• Stroke
• Lasso Trap
• Brush
• Circle

In a more natural & efficient way to interact with 3D:

Based on scanned prototype that has been modified according to ergonomic study, Creative Designer can  sketch on scan in order to create Subdivision surfaces.

In order to improve his design, Creative Designer can use "Base Mesh Smoothing" command, smoothing his shape like a pebble in the see.

Really interesting is to see the reflection of a real environment while doing concept.

In this video, Creative Designer can modify the shape with a high level of visualization, using both CATIA Imagine & Shape and CATIA Live Rendering App.

 Now we have converged on the final shape, Creative Designer can share his design with his engineering colleague for detail design....
