Hello everyone,
I'm setting up alignment drawings in 3DEXPERIENCE R2026x (cloud) with Civil 3D Design and Multi-Discipline Drafting. My alignments use a custom profile built on the stock Railway profile. I generate the vertical views from the Railway view templates, with a band table and grid.
The drawings work, but I'd like to change how the band table and grid look. The default band table shows more information than I need and takes up a lot of space on the sheet. That's my most pressing issue. I'd also like more control over the grid in the vertical view.
My questions are below, with screenshots. Any advice, examples, or pointers to documentation would help.
1. Band table size
The band table takes up too much of the sheet. Most of the height comes from the values, which read vertically.

[Picture 2: The same band table at sheet scale, showing how much of the sheet it takes up]
- Can the values be rotated to read horizontally, so the rows are shorter?
- Can row height, column width, and text size be set? ( have tried this through the usual means of editing the table, but this destroys the alignment of the rows to the alignment grid.)
- Can I create a custom table? How can I do this? This is actually my preference.
2. Band table rows
I'd like to remove, reorder, and relabel rows. I'd also like to add custom rows, for example one driven by a parameter or attribute.
The View Update Rule calls CreateOrReplaceBandTable with a named definition, such as BandTableRailway, BandTableRailwayWithDiagram, BandTableRailwayStationing, or BandTableRailwayStationingVertical. I can't find the row definitions in the drawing template file.
- Where are these named band table definitions stored?
- Can we create our own definition, and is editing a copy the supported way to do it?
3. Grid and line styles
I'd like to change the grid in the vertical view. Meaning the elevation interval, station interval, and extent (and whether they are shown or not). I'd also like to change the line styles: type, thickness, color, and major vs. minor lines. The options for this aren't obvious to me. My preference would be to just create a custom grid, as well as a custom table to match.

- I've found were I can change some parameters. As shown above. Is this the only way?
- If I wanted to shut off the vertical lines, would I have to use another grid template?
- Where are grid spacing and line type, color and thickness set?
- For a custom grid is editing a copy of these annotation templates the right approach?

Thank you for any help. And apologies if any of these questions are basic. I am learning alignment engineering and AEC Catia at the same time. I am used to basic Catia, but maybe that isn't a help with this type of workflow. I have a number of other questions but I wanted to start with these since we need to put a 10% drawing package together quite soon.
