Example of exterior design process with the template

Today, I will introduce an example of exterior design templates and processes.

Assuming that we have a design sketch like the one pictured above, we are thinking about what order to create this result.

We think about how to make the mass, how to control the design curve, what part of the repetitive work section is, and what items we want to control often after applying the whole process.

Adapt these processes to CATIA.

After that, build the template and automation part.

The template was created with two vertical curves, two horizontal curves, and an external surface as input. The result is a simple top and bottom panel and middle glass.

In the automation part, all you have to do is change the vertical curves in order.

The video below starts with the automation running. Designed for design intent, this process can then update the model with the intended action.

if you want to change the design of the module, you can easily test various designs because you only need to change the template part. In addition, the process created in this way can be applied to engineering as it is. This is because you simply need to write the template part in a little more detail.

Can you make a process with your design? Then, like these examples, you can increase your work efficiency.
