Complex civil work that is hard to design with traditional Civil design software is Dam.

Of course, it is simple to create the surface that represent the dam final layout, but when it come to subgrade layer that are all combined one to another and when you have circular layout with radius lower than the filling excavation that is needed to build, it quick become a nightmare!

This video show a 3D design of a Dam that we had in a proposal stage and that we need to estimate the construction material that was needed to be import on site for construction. Those material are all lay down to the Terrain so it is important to get the good context to avoid estimation error.

It also give a good overview to our estimator that multiple lift will have do be done to achieve final grade.

Thanks to the new cross-section tool that do the trick, even for Dam design!
