MARIN TRAVAS | LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER @ AITAC

I am from Rijeka, Croatia, where I was educated, earning my degree from the University of Rijeka Faculty of Engineering.

My professional journey with Dassault product started in 2006 when I joined AITAC doo., company specialized for engineering, CAD-PLM implementation, Consultancy, and R&D. AITAC is also System integrator partner of Dassault Systemes.

Initially, I held an engineering role, during which time I was working with various clients in countries like France, Germany, and the UAE. My primary tool for this engineering work was DASSAULT CATIA V4.

In 2014, I was moved to the newly established consultancy division within our company. As a consultant, software that I’m working with were shifted from CATIA V4 to CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE, allowing me to engage with diverse industries, including Process Industry, Energy, Marine, and Offshore. Leveraging my engineering background, my primary area of expertise within consultancy revolved around CAD solutions. Nevertheless, I maintained an interest in PLM, recognizing that in the era of Industry 4.0 and sustainable design, CAD and PLM are started to be linked as never before.

Today, my role at AITAC d.o.o. is the Manager of the Consultancy & Support department, which is focused on implementation of advanced CAD-PLM platforms across different industries. As a System integrator partner of Dassault Systems, we are (and were) actively involved in several 3DEXPERIENCE implementation projects. Department has a dedicated team of more than 50 consultants.

This role presents me with fresh challenges. While I remain involved in all the projects my team undertakes, I have shifted away from direct 3DEXPERIENCE work.
