How to add the new license file to Pipeline Pilot?

There are 2 ways to add new license file to the PLP. If the license has not expired and able to access the PLP Admin portal, then in the admin portal, navigate to ‘Maintenance’ section and then  ‘License’ page.

In the License page, click ‘Add License’ and then choose the new license file.

Then check the ‘Expiration Date’ which will reflect the new expiration date. Additionally, you can also check in the ‘Installed Packages’ page (Reports -> Installed Packages) for the expiration date.

Alternatively, if the license file is expired or unable to access the Admin portal, then RDP into the PLP server machine. Navigate to ‘Licenses/licensing’ folder within the PLP install folder (eg C:\Program Files\BIOVIA\PPS24\licensing\Licenses). Add the new license file to licensing folder. Restarting the PLP services is not required. However, if you are unable to access the PLP Admin Portal, restart the PLP services.

Any expired license can be removed from the ‘License Page’ or from the PLP server folder (\licensing\licenses).

Note: In previous versions (pre-2024 versions), after adding the new license file, the ‘Expiration Date’ may not reflect the new dates in the UI (Details section). Follow these steps to reflect the new expiration date in the License Page.

  1. RDP into the PLP Server machine and navigate to \licensing\share\data folder.
  2. Remove/move the file – dsdcXXXXXXXXXXX.lic.
