Using BIOVIA CISPro to streamline your research activities

BIOVIA CISPro leverages barcode technology to track inventory items. Each item is assigned a unique barcode ID at receipt and stored at a place where the storage conditions are compatible. The solution offers role-based user permissions & security and a multi-tier location hierarchy (including freezer) to optimize inventory workflows. Analysts can search the items within their own groups or other groups, acquiring an exact knowledge of material quantity, expiry and location available on site. They can leverage this knowledge to streamline routine requests and specify the delivery date and for what purpose when needed. The Inventory Manager may receive email notifications with details once the request submitted from Analysts, enabling an automated Request-Fulfill workflow. The requests may be routed based on delivery date or other user-defined criteria. Inventory Manager or person with the right privileges can transfer the ownership; update the quantity, location, etc. Additionally, CISPro may be integrated with LIMS or other third party systems to accurately transfer the electronic metadata: record the usage of each item in real time, capture the parent-child relationship from prep and link associated testing results to an item(s). It enables research activities to continue smoothly. Any metadata not captured in LIMS may be entered into CISPro manully. After immediate use, the inventory items may be removed from the system. Approval process with signatures may be configured when needed. All of these transactions (from receipt to disposal) would be recorded in history and available for audit purpose.

In a nutshell, our solution addresses the entire material inventory management lifecycle and we provide a robust reporting capability. You can leverage it to create dynamic reports, for example low inventory status, expiry status, usage, etc.
