In ScienceCloud, a user is required to have a ScienceCloud Username. This Username is stored in ScienceCloud's Active Directory and is a unique value within the entire Active Directory, which serves all ScienceCloud customers across all ScienceCloud products. The ScienceCloud Username is visible to team admins within Users Admin, as well as to the user themselves via their User Profile.

There is also a SAML Username - this value is not visible to the end user within ScienceCloud's Users Admin, however, the team admins might know this value due to being in the same network as the end user.

There is a difference between the two - the SAML Username is a value that is only sent to ScienceCloud during user registration and only used to authenticate the user to ScienceCloud from their corporate network. The ScienceCloud Username does not have to match the SAML Username when creating a user account in ScienceCloud.
