ScienceCloud: SAML Configuration Guide

SAML allows your organization to access ScienceCloud via a single sign-on process through your secure VPN. SAML allows your organization’s users to only log-on once, through the company portal, to gain access to all your authenticated service providers, including ScienceCloud. The SAML authentication process consists of exchanging your organization’s SAML metadata (in the form of a token provided by your IT department) with ScienceCloud’s service provider metadata, establishing an active, uninterrupted connection between the two networks.

SAML/ScienceCloud Configuration Process:

1. Download service provider certificate metadata from ScienceCloud and share with your IT department.

2. Request your SAML metadata token (in the form of an XML file) from your IT group.

3. Share your SAML metadata with ScienceCloud Support via email file attachment.

4. Schedule a meeting with a ScienceCloud support member to synchronize metadata upload.

5. Designate user(s) from your organization to test the connection via registration link.

6. ScienceCloud Support will email the designated user(s) registration link.

7. Confirm user sign-on success.

8. Share list of additional users you would like registered.

9. Ensure your list of users registers within 48 hours of emailed link.

Feel free to reach out to ScienceCloud Support via the 3DSupport App for any questions you may have about the process or if you would like to implement SAML for your team in ScienceCloud.
