Materials can have different icons depending upon their constituents and the presence or absence of chemical structures. Here is a summary of some observations:
- A sourced material created with a single substance constituent that has no chemical structure will get the icon that contains two six-membered rings connected by a single line.
- A sourced material created with a single substance constituent that has a structure will get that 2D structure as its icon.
- A sourced material created with a single substance constituent that has an explicit “No Structure” label (drawn in BIOVIA Draw) structure will get that “No Structure” text as its icon.
- A sourced material created with two substance constituents where only one has a structure will get the 2D structure of the constituent as its icon.
- A sourced material created with two substance constituents where both have structures will get the default scoop-like icon.
- A sourced material created with no substance constituent will get the default scoop-like icon.
Note that these are only some limited tests and may not cover all the scenarios that the users might be trying.
