Microsoft Silverlight is required if you are running widgets in LIMS. Silverlight needs to be installed on LIMS application server and on the client machine (Wherever the user opens the browser to connect and login to LIMS). If you are using Chrome 42-44, since Chrome stopped supporting Silverlight starting with version 42, you can implement the steps listed in BIOVIA LIMS Application Server Installation Guide in section “Enabling NPAPI plug-ins for Chrome browsers”. Starting with Chrome 45 widgets are no longer supported. There are no specific steps or workarounds for IE 11. If you are running widgets and need to use IE 11, Silverlight is required on LIMS application server and client machines (Wherever the user opens the browser to connect and login to LIMS).
