Enabling Adapter Debugging in LES

Enabling Adapter Debugging in LES:

LES has limited debug information and this can be enabled as below.

On the LES client server, run regedit

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\WOW6432Node\\VelQuest\\Adapter System

a) Create a new string value called "Debug" and set its value to "True"

b) Create a new string called ‘Path’ and set it value to the Adapter System path (eg C:\\Program Files (x86)\\VelQuest\\AdapterSystem).

Exit out of LES if it is currently open.

Relaunch the LES application and test the IM/Excel Adapter.

IM Adapter:

CIMS adapter log will be generated in the root of the installed drive on the client e.g C

The file will be called CIMS_Adapter.log and may need to be created by an admin.

Warning!!! Enabling debug mode on a Citrix/Terminal server will cause the CIMS adapter not to work correctly.

The user will get the following error message when using 'CIMS Adapter' in Procedure Execution, if the user do not have the write permission to 'CIMS_Adapter.log' file.

"Err =-2146233088 Could not create an instance of adapter CIMS Adapter. Please see an administrator, in frmProcExe3:UCMetaDataECPC_EINSelected"

Excel Adapter:

A file called ‘ExcelAdapter_Adapter.log’ will be generated in the location of the ‘Path’ (eg C:\\Program Files (x86)\\VelQuest\\AdapterSystem).
