Registration users may sometimes send records to the Curator for review and approval before final registration. During this workflow, they will notice an important difference. When a record goes to curation in BioReg, it gets a Lot ID assignment, i.e., even before approval and final registration. However, in ChemReg, a record in curation will not have a Lot ID assignment. The reason for the different behavior with respect to Lot ID assignment is that BioReg is by default set to Automatic Identity Management, whereas ChemReg is set to Interactive Identity Management.
