[Tip] Change the default setting to choose the job folder name

In Discovery Studio and Discovery Studio Simulation the default name of the job folder for a job is made up of the protocol name and the timestamp of when it was launched. If you want to run multiple similar jobs with different parameters it can help with the analysis if the name of the job folder includes key information about the job e.g. the molecule name, particular parameter settings etc. You can choose to name the folder of an individual protocol run or for all protocol runs:

1. For an individual protocol run click on the Options button in the protocol dialog and toggle off the Use Default Path option. If the protocol has been docked, right-click in the parameter window and toggle off Use Default Path.

2. For all protocol runs go to Edit>Preferences and select the Protocols section in the Preferences panel. Toggle off Use default path to save a job and click Apply and OK to make the change and close the panel.

When this change is made and the protocol is run, a panel appears with the default naming convention for the folder name (protocol name and timestamp). This name can be changed to make it memorable e.g. to include information that is specific about that job. If you browse the job folders in the Files Explorer the specific job names can help to go directly to the run of interest.
