You will find below an overview of the key new additional values provided by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and all 3DS Brands roles and apps (ENOVIA; CATIA; DELMIA; SIMULIA; SOLIDWORKS) delivered in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform R2019x FD02 on the cloud.

3DEXPERIENCE platform core web apps

3DSwym enhancements

3DSwym has been redesigned and provide now additional user interaction features. Communities activity feed has been reshaped and display now, by default, a Timeline view (more recent activities are at the bottom). You can change the view at the top and choose the Content view in order to display a "blog-type" view by hiding the Message* content types. 

*Message is a new type of 3DSwym content introduced in this version. See more information below.

Filter the timeline by content type (Post, Media, Ideas, Questions, Wiki Page, Survey) and their related activities.

Youtube video are now directly embedded into any 3DSwym content. So, you can now preview and play your Youtube videos from 3DSwym.

Tips: Make sure to copy the Share Video link available below each Youtube video. Correct format is https://youtu.be/... If you copy/paste the URL from your browser address bar, the URL preview in 3DSwym will not work

You can now publish Message. This new type of 3DSwym content is available to all 3DSwym users. A Message is a short publication using simple formatting options and emojis (to share your emotions)

Private conversations have been enhanced as you can now create a private chat outside communities with up to 9 members. Conversations are now enriched with the ability to share media, publish posts and starting audio & video calls. All these new features are web based without any software download nor installation. See below an overall presentation of these enhancements

3DDrive enhancements

Set up your OneDrive drive. Using OneDrive from Microsoft? Know that you can now set it up within the platform on your 3DDrive to centralize all your drives (Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive).

Platform Management enhancements

In cases Roles deployed are based on Credits or Tokens, a new section is available in Members tab of Platform Management dashboard. This section shows the amount of Credits or Tokens (remaining vs right). These types of Roles based on either credits or tokens are mainly Roles from SIMULIA & 3DEXCITE.

3DNotification enhancements

For notifications sent to many users with actions required, status will now be updated for all users as soon as the required action is performed. For instance, if I send a community membership request, all community owners will be notified. When an owner answers my request, all other owners will be notified of the action performed.

Tips: This feature can be turned off with the following stacking commands horizontally is achieved by a setting on menu, there setting can be overridden by passing “showmenuinToolbar” true in URL. “Horizontal ToolBar” is the setting to be applied on any menu which we want to stack on toolbar.

Enhanced App: ENOVIA 3D Navigate

Support for side panels saves time  with less clicks, versus working in a single window panel

• This side panel function will enrich customer’s experience by offering 2 panels and each one contains some information or operations.
• This feature has been implemented in 3D navigate as shown. Left panel is the root, right panel displays properties

When displaying a large data set, loading boxes serve as geometry placeholders to visually determine how much geometry remains to be processed by the 3D viewer

• Loading Boxes are displayed in orange  and will automatically display after 15 seconds (default value)
• Widget preference settings control loading box display on or off and loading box display delay time

Allow co-design between SOLIDWORKS Desktop and xDesign/xShape users

The ability for SOLIDWORKS Desktop to open (read-only) any type of 3DEXPERIENCE native data, such as:

• xDesign
• xShape

The ability to insert 3DEXPERIENCE native parts and subassemblies into a SOLIDWORKS Desktop assembly

This capability require users to have 3D Product Architect (PAU) license assigned to them.

Switch active collaborative space in the SOLIDWORKS session allowing users better control of access to created designs 

A new command to sign out and sign in again is added inside SOLIDWORKS desktop to allow the switching of the security context

Support the ability to un-reserve designs during save to the platform

The Save (to platform) dialog box is extended with an option to remove the reservation of the saved designs

Enhanced tree view in the My Session task pane window making it easier to see if drawings needs to be regenerated after a design change

• The tree will include parts and assemblies referenced by drawings.
• The tree will include in-context references (part to assembly/part references).
• Internal / virtual components will be displayed with a special icon in the tree ().

Get Revision command split into two commands

In releases up to R2019x FD01 we had a command called “Get Revision” which would replace the revision on the local disk with the selected new revision regardless if it was the same revision or another revision. This command is now split into two commands:

• Reload from Server – retrieve the latest iteration of the already cached revision
• Replace by Revision – replace the cached revision with another revision

Lifecycle Duplicate command for SOLIDWORKS Desktop designs by simplifying the reuse of designs

The Duplicate command in the Collaborative Lifecycle widget will now support SOLIDWORKS Desktop assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts as long as all of them contain only one configuration

Warn about conflicting referenced revisions by reducing the risk of design mistakes

It’s possible to create an assembly that references two different revisions of the same part using the platform. Such an assembly cannot be opened in SOLIDWORKS Desktop and we will now warn the user about this situation.

Enhanced App: ENOVIA Engineering Release

Enhance the Engineering Item definition with specification definition

Documents can be attached as specifications to an engineering item (in addition to the existing reference link)

• A new command ‘Document as Specification’  is available for an Engineering Item to create/attach  specification document
• The lifecycle promotion of the engineering item depends on the lifecycle state of the related specification document
• Reference Document can now be attached to an Engineering Item from ‘Documents’ tab in Information panel of any Engineering Item

Control the “Specification” through a rule

New rule on maturity change of an Engineering Item, which evaluates the current state of Specification Document before executing the maturity transition of the engineering item

• For a Specification Document, Administrator can add new rule for maturity change, for example, to reject a change in maturity of an engineering item if the related Specification Document is not already in the target state
• This rule is embodied in the existing option to consider ‘All Children Types

Enhanced visibility and editing of effectivity information

Variant and evolution attributes are directly visible in the “datagrid” view of the widget

• Two new columns are displayed to easily retrieve and visualize information about variant and evolution effectivities of all the Engineering items listed
• Items which do not have specific effectivity assigned, will be displayed as valid for ‘All’ effectivities
• Note that you can edit these effectivities from this view by double click on each of them

• Single Click on these attributes will launch respective commands. .
• Keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (for copy and paste) are now supported to copy and paste the values from Title, Instance Name and Description fields along with multi-selection support

Enhanced Export Report Capabilities

New preferences are available in both: Widget, report. To enable a generation of various reports

 
Reports can be based on: leaf, qualified as final and/or intermediate  engineering items

• Leaf engineering item can be defined also through a custom attribute, which can be taken into account during the report generation

Report header and column attributes can be defined to fit the user needs

Quick view of the engineering definition that answers user needs

User can define the desired view of the “Engineering Definition” based on the engineering item:
Direct:

• The engineering definition displays all the engineering items in the current level (no filtering)

Flattened:

• The engineering definition displays only engineering items available in the “Leaf” level of the structure

Enhanced App: ENOVIA Connected Software

Federate Software code and build artifacts to 3DEXPERIENCE by connecting software content to the enterprise platform to release and manage a holistic, hardware/software definition

Enforce static reference of external SCM content prior to maturing Software Item to  state, to ensure data integrity. 

Enhanced indexing, searching, and 6WTag for SW item. 

• Use Item Address, Version Address and name of associated SCM Repository to search SW Items

Ensure SW Item maturity promotion refers to static data in SCM by controlling the ability to modify the connection to the SCM data once the Software Item reaches the Frozen and Released states

Control the ability to modify the connection to the SCM data once the Software Item reaches the Frozen and Released states, by preventing promotion to these states unless reference is to a static version/tag. 

• Once SW item is in Frozen/Released state the objects and their data are expected to be “fixed”.

Provide more flexibility in Change Order definition

Change action creation:

• User can manually create a change action under an existing change order (CO) even when the proposed changes are not yet defined
  • This allows the assignees to define the proposed changes later in the process
• Change actions can also be removed from the Change Order

Change action promotion:

• Change Orders with “Fast track” policy, can be promote from “Prepare” to “In Work” if they have Change actions without any “proposed changes” 
  • Yet, at least one change action must be defined under the Change Order

Notifications:

• Notifications are sent to assignees when a rejection (demote) of a Change Order or Change Action from ‘In Work’ is done
• User is notified that a validation is needed when trying to promote a change action from “In Work” to “In Approval” in case this change action has no “Proposed” or “Realized” changes

Provide change flexibility by extending the Change definition to include external objects

It is now possible to define an external item as ‘Reported Against’ while creating a new change request (CR) or change order (CO)

Change Object Dependency and Co-dependency by coordinating and tracking cross-functional change dependencies

The promotion of Change objects (CA/CO) that have dependencies between them, is restricted according to:

• Dependency:
  • Change Object 1 cannot be promoted to In-Approval/Approved before Change Object 2 is at least in Approved state

• Co-dependency
  • Either of the Change Objects cannot be promoted to Approved unless the other co-dependant change object is at least in “In Approval” state

• Moving “Realized Changes” to another Change Action (CA) is required in cases such as:
  • Fast change tracking of the particular realized change(s)
  • Management of Rejection
  • Faster approval of objects such as Long lead items

How

• Move one or more “Realized Changes”  to a new or existing “Change Action”
• Associated activities can also be transferred (optional)

Notes

• This highlight supports both configured and non configured Engineering Items
• Use the “Multi-select” in the “Realized Changes”  to enable the command
• To enable this feature, make sure to disable the setting ‘Change Collaboration for EBOM-Product Structure’ in Collaborative Space Content Configuration Widget

Additional controls to ensure ‘review & approval’ process is not done by the same person

Provide additional system level parameters to enforce the proper set of reviewers are defined:

• Remove Change Action owners from reviewers checks
  • When the parameter unchecked, this means: Do not allow change action owner to be the only reviewer of the change action
  • If checked, the owner cannot be the only reviewer of the change action. If the owner is a reviewer, a secondary reviewer will be required, but it cannot violate any of the other parameters
• Remove Change Action assignees from reviewers checks
  • When the parameter is unchecked, this means: Do not allow change action assignees to be  the only reviewers of the change action
  • If checked, the assignee cannot be the only reviewer of change action. If an assignee is a reviewer, a secondary reviewer will be required, but it cannot violate any of the other parameters. You can have multiple assignees as reviewers. 
• Remove Change Action governing change coordinator from reviewers checks
  • When the parameter is unchecked, this means: Do not allow change order coordinators to be  the only reviewers of the change action

A default machine and build tray can be filled in Preferences and taken in account for new PPR creation so that the user won't have to select them every time.

Part selection moves from Build Setup to Layout command
To simplify the workflow, parts are now selected in Layout command instead of the Build Setup command. This way user can stay in the same command to add or remove part to produce.
