Starting a conversation/sending a private message from the profile page of someone would be a good idea.

Edit: For completion I forgot to mention that you can hover over someones name to start a conversation with them.
Enhancement 

When trying to start a conversation with someone with a common name (i.e. John Smith) it is often impossible to know who is who without knowing their email address.

Just add a standard message button on the profile would be my suggestion.
