In the ISO standard, drawing dimensions are placed above the dimension line whereas in ANSI standard, dimensions are centered on the dimension line.
However, even working with the ISO standard and to clearly add dimensions in some limited space of drawings, customers sometimes need to create dimension centered on the dimensions line (see example below).
How to achieve that result in CATIA Drafting? It's possible by customizing the ISO standard and using the « ANSI » value for the « international standard » parameter. You can watch the full process in the attached video. Note that it shows how to do for the Diameter dimension but the same steps should also be done for the other types of dimensions.
