Renishaw

In this section, you will find everything necessary to connect Renishaw printers & software to the on 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

What to experience inside our apps with this collaboration ?

  • To switch seamlessly from design parts for AM to simulating print on Renishaw virtual twin machine.
  • To use Renishaw printing parameters for trajectories computation.
    • Managing Tempus technology: to define it while assigning scanning strategies.
  • To display Renishaw trajectories and to parse the whole build job across layers and time.
  • To generate job file for the printer.

Prerequisite

  • To install Renishaw Licence Manager using the link provided in your licence entitlement email.
    • Purpose: To activate your 'QuantAM Post Processor' licence.

Procedure

These videos guide you from verifying model consistency to generating job file for your RenAM printer.
To be noticed, workflow is the same for all published models.

Standard RenAMRenAM with Tempus (TM) technology

1/ To launch 3DEXPERIENCE.
2/ To download your Additive Machine model then to import the 3DXML file into 3DEXPERIENCE.
3/ To start your Additive application.
4/ To open "Search Machine" command then to pick the uploaded model.
5/ To open PLM tree and to left-click on it. To click on "edit machine" button from the bubble bar. Or, you can right-click on it then inside the contextual menu, go to Additive Machine then click on Edit NC Resource
6/ To check that "ParameterFolder" & "MachineType" custom parameters are defined:
ParameteFolder parameter must point to the QuantAM directory containing material parameters.

7/ To open "Virtual Machine" expander, to click on "Check library load":

To verify that following services are checked: "Get list of available rules" ; "Compute Scan path on slices" ; "Create jobfile from Scan path" ; "Get Settings"

8/ To open "Rules" expander, to click on "Update list of rules". To check that Rules are added under both "Build process" & "Scan path" nodes

9/ To prepare the build...

... Once you are about to define scanning strategy:
10/ To open "Scan path generation" command then to assign Build process & Scan path rules.
For Tempus: please use the dedicated Build process rule.
10b/ For Tempus only: To click on "Assign optics" button then to define optics strategy on every parts.
11/ To click on "Generate" button.
12/ To click "Display" button to review the trajectories from Renishaw APIs.
12/ To open "Generate output" command then to select either "mtt" or "RenAM" file format
13/ To click on Generate.
15/ To open generated file in QuantAM.
16/ To review job file then to send it for manufacturing.

About AM models versioning

These models were created from a specific 3DEXPERIENCE Platform version and are compatible with later releases.
Make sure to download the model matching your configuration.

External parameters

All the knowledge coming from QuantAM - Material and scanning strategies associated to it - is imported as "scan path" rule in the 3DEXPERIENCE. It means that you must first define Material and export it to the directory folder - the one pointed by ParameterFolder cf. above procedure.
The "Scan path generation" command allows you to use these Material parameters by assigning their associated "scan path" rules on parts and supports.

About the parameters linked to Tempus technology, they have been implemented and stored into our "build process" rule. This rule can be picked at "Scan path generation" command, while assigning Material parameters.
