In this section, you will find everything necessary to connect TRUMPF printers & software to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
What to experience inside our apps with this collaboration ?
- To switch seamlessly from design parts for AM to simulating print on TRUMPF virtual twin machine.
- To use TRUMPF printing parameters for trajectories computation.
- To generate job file for the printer.
Prerequisite
- To install TRUMPF Licence Expert (v2.2.1 or later) & to activate your licence.
- To install TruTops Print (v10.5.0.2 or later).
- Purpose: To be able to define Material & Parameter features, these ones will be retrieved thanks to TRUMPF APIs.
Procedure
This video guides you from verifying model consistency to generating job file for your TRUMPF printer.
To be noticed, workflow is the same for all published models.
1/ To launch 3DEXPERIENCE.
2/ To download your Additive Machine model then to import the 3DXML file into 3DEXPERIENCE.
3/ To start your Powder Bed Fabrication application.
4/ To open "Search Machine" command then to pick the uploaded model.
5/ To open PLM tree and to left-click on it. To click on "Edit machine" button from the bubble bar. Or, you can right-click on it then inside the contextual menu, go to Additive Machine then click on Edit NC Resource
6/ To check that "MachineType" & "TruTopsSerivceAddress" custom parameters are defined:
MachineType parameter must be equal to the TRUMPF printer name.
TruTopsServiceAddress parameter must be as indicated.
7/ To open "Virtual Machine" expander, to click on "Check library load":
To verify that following services are checked: "Get list of available rules" ; "Create jobfile from geometry" ; "Get Settings"
8/ To open "Rules" expander, to click on "Update list of rules". To check that Rules are added under both "Build process" & "Scan path" nodes: these rules correspond to Material & Parameter features defined in TruTops Print software programme.
9/ To prepare the build...
... Once you are about to define scanning strategy:
10/ To open "Generate output" command then to check that "wza" options appear inside the "Format" dropdown list.
11/ To select supported "wza" format version.
12/ To click on "Build strategy" button.
13/ To select Material feature from dropdown list next to Build process rule then to assign Scan path rule on all regions.
To validate assignment.
14/ To click on Generate.
15/ To open generated wza file in TruTops Print software programme.
16/ To review job file then to send it for manufacturing.
Available models
About AM models versioning
These models were created from a specific 3DEXPERIENCE Platform version and are compatible with later releases.
Make sure to download the model matching your configuration.
External parameters
All the knowledge coming from TruTops Print - Material and Parameter features - is imported as "build process: & "scan path" rules in the 3DEXPERIENCE. It means that you must first define these features in TruTops Print prior to click on "Update list of available rules" - cf. step 8 from above procedure.
The "Generate output" command allows you to use these Material and Parameter features by assigning their associated "build process" & "scan path" rules on parts and supports.
