In this section, you will explore a use case demonstrating the Get Along functionality.
| This technical practice explores a tool in resilient modelling, that can anticipate relational changes. This tool uses design references as well as axis system to set the direction to fix the domain. It is a combination of near/far and extremum options, used in traditional best practices. |
In a surface design scenario, when a feature is driven by multi-domain references, updating the model, especially changes in the domain reference, can be challenging .Even in case of downstream use, it is advisible to use single domain. Conventionally, this is handled using best practices such as the Near/Far option in the update strategy, to control reference resolution during update. To simplify this behaviour, the Get Along tool can be used. This tool enables the designer to explicitly define the orientation of the domain reference using an axis system, ensuring stable feature behaviour and predictable updates during design changes. The Get Along tool offers a more robust, scalable and user-friendly solution for managing complex surface design dependencies in a dynamic modeling environment. |
This technical practice introduces the Get Along tool, a feature designed to anticipate connexity changes during model updates. It operates by combining Near/Far and Extremum behaviours to ensure robust reference resolution. Using an axis system, the user can explicitly define the direction of the domain, providing greater control and stability. Instead of managing multiple domains for downstream features, a single Get Along feature can be created and reused when only one stable domain reference is required. |
