We successfully kicked off our very first CATIA Electrical Day in Darmstadt — and were delighted by the overwhelming response. The number of registrations far exceeded our expectations!
Although the topic is quite specialized within the broad CATIA portfolio, it is both strategically important and highly relevant to business. Three customers (Julian BAUER from Pepperl & Fuchs, @BH from Geberit and @MM from Rasco) shared their vision and explained how they transformed their workflows to enhance their virtual twin, establish a robust engineering environment with Dassault Systèmes as their PLM solution, and improve downstream processes using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

During the customer presentations, the following key questions were addressed:
- Why has Dassault Systèmes been a trusted partner?
- What has been achieved so far?
- What are the next steps?
These real-world insights sparked valuable discussions and clearly illustrated the benefits of adopting a model-based, data-driven approach.
In addition, we covered a broad range of ECAD topics, addressing various industries and perspectives. We began with a fundamental question — “What is ECAD?” — and explored its three major areas, along with the complete ECAD portfolio offered by Dassault Systèmes.
Building on this foundation, we discussed current market challenges and how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform supports ECAD design — helping customers work more efficiently and gain tangible business value.
We also held two in-depth technical presentations. The first focused on the complete CATIA Electrotechnical and Cabling Solution, showcasing best practices for electrotechnical schematics, cabinet layouts, cable trays, and cable routing. The second presentation highlighted the full Electrical Harness Design end-to-end process — from the initial net diagram through 3D harness design and routing to manufacturing.
Our final session explored the essential collaboration between systems engineering and electrical design.
All of these presentations demonstrated a mature, integrated, and data-driven solution — a true single source of truth that empowers efficient and collaborative engineering.
But the best of all was connecting with the community! We had plenty time to exchange and share experiences during breaks and the farewell drink.
