I'm trying to run a submodel for a structural analysis, with the goal being to refine the mesh in areas of concern and eliminating an artificial press fit that was required for the global model to converge. I have a global model run without temperature consideration, and one with a *temperature card included. I need to run a submodel for both cases.
The stress contours / magnitudes for the model without the temperature consideration is aligning for the global model and submodel. When I try to run a submodel for the temperature case, the stress magnitudes in my submodel are significantly higher. I have tried the following in the step containing the temperature change:
*Temperature, File = Globalmodel, Interpolate
*Initial Conditions, Type = Temperature, Interpolate
*Temperature (and setting the elsets containing my refined submodel mesh to the desired temperature)
*Boundary, submodel (does not capture temperature value, but sets the temperature to zero)
I would appreciate any recommendations for this scenario
