Hi, I’d like to model chip formation during a cutting operation using a CEL formulation (material flow in Eulerian—EUL—coupled with a rigid tool in Lagrangian—LAG). However, I’m encountering an issue I don’t fully understand regarding the velocity field in my workpiece.
The workpiece’s speed is prescribed at the top boundary of the Eulerian mesh. I’m using a Johnson-Cook material model (accounting for both plasticity and damage) for the workpiece, but I’m observing oscillations in the results that don’t make physical sense.
Do you have any tips or tricks to resolve this issue?
