        I am currently using the Explicit module of Abaqus to simulate the penetration of a bullet into a metal component. After reducing the stress wave through viscous pressure, I use the "initial state" to transfer the data to the "standard" module. Currently, I have encountered a problem: In the Explicit simulation, there are some elements that have not failed but have detached from the main body of the component. These elements will seriously affect the convergence of the standard module.

        The scattered elements can be deleted by setting the displacement threshold through the VUSDFLD subroutine. But what should be done with those elements that still have nodes or edges connected to the component body and have not reached the failure criteria?
