We have about 60% of all documents (PDF's mostly, although some DXF/DWG's too) are produced by suppliers. As such they must not be deleted or otherwise updated other than through a new version of the document.

We have implemented major-minor revision strategy.

Most staff managing third party documents have "author" status, some are just "contributors".

How do I indicate at the first upload that the document is to be in published maturity ?

When we receive an update from the supplier, is it possible to drag the document onto the existing revision and thus a new revision is created and the file is uploaded to the new revision ?

When a document is uploaded in published status is it possible to have the previous document automatically go to the maturity state "obsolete" ?
