Best Practise For Avoiding Duplicate Document Titles

We have a customer that handles a lot of customer supplied documents they wish to load into the Cloud platform. The Title driven by the filename will typically be the unique identifier.

Has anyone found a good methodology for the loading of documents other than the manual steps? For example:

  1. Search for document
  2. If found up revise and load new version
  3. If not found add new document

 

It isn't a difficult process, but the customer is concerned that with a lot of documents to do mistakes could easily be made and duplicates created.

 

What we would ideally like is something like the "Check File Title for Uniqueness" option available in the SOLIDWORKS connector.

Has anyone found a workable methodology for this sort of scenario? 

Is there any enhancements on the roadmap that might fulfil this requirement
