Does anyone know how to use the “Integration Section”?

I found this feature in the BIOVIA Notebook documentation.
I believe this feature can further expand the capabilities of BIOVIA Notebook, so I am currently researching it.
However, I can’t quite visualize specific use cases for it, so I’m still unclear on exactly what it can be used for.

If you're implementing this using PLP, could you tell me about:

- The protocol (though the documentation gave me the impression that this isn't limited to protocols)

- Ideas for how it can be used

- How it differs from Actions

and so on?

Introduction to the Integration Section
----
The Integration Section allows applications to interactively control Notebook section content. You can
access content from an application such as BIOVIA Chemical Registration in the Notebook section
toolbox.
Using the Integration Section, external applications can directly insert or update tables and other
content. You can configure section action buttons and content. You can also modify sections status to
affect experiment logic, such as blocking experiment submission until registration is complete.
To configure an Integration Section you will need to populate several database tables and ensure that
your separate application provides the appropriate URLs and parameters to Notebook.
