Abstract
Validating autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems demands simulation environments that faithfully reproduce real-world vehicle dynamics, sensor perception, and traffic interactions at a fidelity level sufficient for engineering sign-off. This presentation demonstrates an integrated simulation workflow combining CATIA SCANeR with with Simpack's multibody dynamics solver for high-fidelity co-simulation across chassis, suspension, and powertrain subsystems within a fully instrumented virtual proving ground. The coupled architecture supports autonomous driver agent deployment — incorporating radar, lidar & camera sensor models — across systematically authored AD/ADAS validation scenarios executed on purpose-built simulation benches.
A key enabler is Simpack’s real-time technology, which brings the high-fidelity models into hardware-in-the-loop and driving simulators, ensuring that the already validated offline high-fidelity vehicle model is the same model leveraged in real-time — eliminating model fidelity gaps between virtual and physical testing stages, and eliminating the need for relying on lower fidelity models for real-time applications.
