Dear Makers,
We were recently made aware of an issue affecting some of our Maker subscribers related to giving a new all-in-one role for SOLIDWORKS xDesign to replace the suite of roles you were originally given.
We apologize for this issue and have written the following steps for you to help resolve it.
- If you are seeing licensing errors when you log into your 3DEXPERIENCE platform, please follow the steps to below to ungrant the expired roles and grant yourself the new SOLIDWORKS xDesign role you received with your recent subscription renewal.
- If you don’t see the SOLIDWORKS xDesign role or cannot grant the role, then please submit an Online Support Form and we will provide assistance.
How to Activate the New SOLIDWORKS xDesign Role
In a few steps, you will be able to activate your new role.
- Log in to your 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Open your dashboard list and click on the Members Management cockpit, then click the Members tab.
Click the (i) icon next to your name.
- Click View roles granted, and then clear the checkboxes for the following roles to ungrant them:
- 3D Creator
- 3D Mold Creator
- 3D Sculptor
- 3D SheetMetal Creator
- 3D Structure Creator
Manufacturing Definition Creator
NOTE: Close the pop-up window when finished and repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other users on your platform.
Under Roles, click the (i) icon for SOLIDWORKS xDesign.
A pop-up window will open. Click “View all”, then check the box next to your name and any other users you want to assign the role to.
You’ll see a green “Granted” confirmation message. Click “Refresh the page now”.
NOTE: Repeat steps 5-7 for any other new role that hasn’t been granted yet (ex: Product Communicator).
Return to your Dashboards list and click the new SOLIDWORKS xDesign cockpit to start designing.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and remain committed to providing you with the best design experience.
Best regards,
The SOLIDWORKS Maker team
