I wanted to share this information with the user and explain how we are using Product Manager to organise multiple design solutions within a single digital Mockup product.

The Product Manager in Vertical Aerospace manages the “Type Design Data”, for compliance, and lifecycle decisions across engineering, certification, manufacturing, and operations.

The Product Manager owns the “Definition of the product” across its lifecycle
 

• Requirements → what the aircraft/system must do

• Design definition → how it is implemented

• Configuration → what version exists at any point in time

• Compliance → proving it meets regulations

• Lifecycle → how it evolves safely over time

1 - DMU - List of parts = 150% (AS  DESIGNED - Design Solutions) 

2 - Model Version  = 120% (Controlled product - DS Options)

3 - Product Configuration = 100%    (Build / "units list of DS "AS PLANNED" )

4 - MBOM = 100%   - "AS BUILT"  Product Configuration
