In one of our recent projects on the Volvo FH headlamp, several of the plastic mounting clips , originally made of PA , were broken, and no replacement parts were available in the market.
To restore the headlamp, we reverse-engineered the clip, redesigned the internal geometry, and produced the final part using a resin 3D printer.
For fabrication, we selected an engineering-grade resin with mechanical properties close to the original PA component to ensure proper functionality and durability.
The newly manufactured part fit perfectly on the headlamp and delivered reliable performance.
This project is a good example of how reverse engineering, design, and additive manufacturing can bring rare components back into service.
