Waly’s Design & Manufacturing Lab

Welcome to Waly’s Design & Manufacturing Lab

Hi everyone!

I’m @MW, a Mechatronics Engineering student and mechanical design enthusiast from Egypt, passionate about SOLIDWORKS, mechanical design, reverse engineering, and turning engineering ideas into practical solutions.

My journey with SOLIDWORKS has been a continuous process of learning, experimenting, teaching, and sharing. For around a year and a half, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a Co-Leader of Mansoura SWUGN, where I’ve been involved in organizing technical activities, sharing knowledge, and helping students develop their SOLIDWORKS and engineering skills.

I’m also a Certified SOLIDWORKS Expert and SOLIDWORKS Champion, and I enjoy exploring how good digital design can translate into practical, manufacturable products.

What You’ll Find Here

The goal of this space is to share practical knowledge, useful techniques, and lessons learned throughout the journey from Design to Manufacturing.

You’ll find content covering:

  • SOLIDWORKS modeling and design techniques
  • Mechanical design and manufacturing considerations
  • Reverse engineering and 3D modeling
  • Practical modeling challenges and solutions
  • Design best practices and lessons learned from real projects
  • Tips for creating robust, editable, and manufacturing-friendly models

I believe engineering knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared. So, rather than simply showing how something can be modeled, I want to explore why it should be modeled that way, what can go wrong, and what we can learn from the process.

My goal is simple: Learn. Design. Build. Share.

I hope this space helps other engineers and designers learn something useful, avoid common mistakes, and approach their designs with a better understanding of the journey from the screen to the real world.

Welcome, and let’s build better designs together!
